Recently, I took my 1954 Selmer tenor saxophone to Dan Michelsen's (sic) Music, Repair & Supply store in Schofield, Wisconsin.
After a thorough examination, Dan recommended a complete overhaul and assured me that I would be satisfied with the outcome. I was
more than satisfied, as his precision craftsmanship was incredible. I had witnessed this horn's wear and tear over teh years with
just spot repairs, and the detrimental effect that it had on my performance. However, since his repair, the horn is responding like
it did when it was new. The high tones and the low tones are balanced and respond appropriately. I know that this overhaul has
contributed immeasurably to the quality (of) my playing. Those who have heard me play since that overhaul, have commented on my tone
quality as well as the dexterity of my performance.
Therefore, it is without reservation, that I recommend Dan's craftsmanship to any musician, who wishes superior repair and
restoration to their instrument. His attention to detail and knowledge will increase the precision of the instrument and the quality
of your playing. |
